We have selected 12 successful funding rounds of startups that are tackling environmental and/or social issues accross Europe.

Northvolt – Sweden

  • Raised amount: $1.6 billion
  • Investors: APG, BNP Paribas, Danske Bank, Danica Pension, IMI – Intesa Sanpaolo.

Northvolt provides electrification and renewable energy storage to produce electricity for EVs.

Cowboy – Belgium:

  • Raised amount: €23 million
  • Investors: Exor seeds, HCVC, Isomer Capital, Future Positive Capital, Index Ventures

Cowboy is an e-bikes designer and manufacturer for urban riders.

CCSL – United Kingdom:

  • Raised: $22 million
  • Investors: Equinor Ventures; ICOS Capital

CCSL is a Low-cost carbon dioxide (CO2) capture and separation technology maker.

Yamo – Switzerland:

  • Raised amount: €10.1 million
  • Ivestors: Five Seasons Ventures, Swiss Entrepreneurs Fund, Ringier Digital Ventures, Müller Ventures, btov Partners, Polytech Ventures, BackBone Ventures and Fundament

Yamo is a Swiss Foodtech startups that give parents healthier and easy organic food choices for their children .

CorPower – Sweden:

  • Raised amout: €9 million
  • Investors: Midroc New Technology, ALMI Invest Greentech, EIT InnoEnergy, and other private investors.

CorPower develops wave energy technology, its new generation of wave energy converters is inspired by the human heart. Its technology allows large amounts of energy to be harvested using small, low-cost devices

Siilo – Netherlands:

Quibim – Spain:

  • Raised amount: €8 million
  • Investors: Amadeus Capital Partners, Adara Ventures, Apex Ventures, Partech, Crista Galli Ventures , Tech Transfer UPV (Clave Capital and Juan Roig).

    Quibim is an Artificial intelligence startup that develops algorithms able to extract data from medical imaging data, such as X-ray and CT scans, to find abnormalities and biomarkers that detect disease early.

Smol – United Kingdom:

  • Raised amount: £8 million
  • Invesors: Balderton Capital, JamJar Investments.
  • Smol

  • Raised amount: €8 million
  • Investors: Airbus Ventures, Partech, KBC Focus Fund, W.IN.G, Noshaq ventures, Leansquare, Nivelinvest, Vives.

Voltstorage – Germany:

  • Raised amount: €6 million
  • Investors: Korys, Bayern Kapital , EIT InnoEnergy, SOSV, Energie360°, Matthias Willenbacher and other business angels.

Voltstorage builds the alternative to Tesla batteries in Europe, it is developing solar storage systems that are based on the eco-friendly Redox Flow Technology.
